1) The foreign ministers of Australia and Indonesia agreed on the importance of stopping the flow of illegal immigrants throughout their region. Illegal immigrants from Iraq and Iran frequently use Indonesia as a springboard onto Australia. Indonesia has agreed to stop suspected smugglers and send them to Australia for trial, the agreed on this through a bilateral agreement; which is a two sided agreement. The two way trade between these countries in 07-08 totaled 6.6 billion.
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2009/02/19/asia/AS-Australia-Indonesia.php
2) The form of government used in Australia is a Constitutional Monarchy. Constitutional because the powers and procedures of the Commonwealth Government are defined by a written constitution and Monarchy because Australia’s Head of State is Queen Elizabeth II. Indonesia has a Republic, a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them.
3, 4) In order for these nations to solve their problem they must go through with there bilateral agreement, which as worked out well for both.
5) Regarding the problem I believe it will continue to be a problem because immigrants make risky trips to distant nations to get away from mistreatment and if going through Indonesia is the only way to make the trip to Australia, then it will continue to occur.

1.Australia helped the victims of deadly bushfires at church services across the country. While the government vowed to create an early warning system to try to avoid a repetition of the disaster. The fires in the state of Victoria, was the worst natural disaster to hit the country in more than a century. this damage has left about, 181 people dead, 1,800 homes have been destroyed, and 7,000 people are now homless.http://uk.reuters.com/article/UKNews1/idUKTRE51C71E20090215 -
2.Australias form of goverment is Constitutional Monarchy. A monarchy in which the powers of the ruler are restricted to those granted under the constitution and laws of the nation.
3.The government said it would push to establish a bushfire early warning system, after years of delays.
4. I think that the best solution will be to maintian prepare in case of another bushfire.
5.The predictions I have looking forward to this problem is that is going to stay for a while because Australia hadn't experience a fire like this one in about a century, so is going to be hard for the firefighters to control something like this.

1.I read the article Australia to Press Canada on the Environment, and obtained it from the website http://www.vancouversun.com/Technology/Australia+press+Canada+environment/1316097/story.html. This article had a huge focus on the environment and its current climate issues. It all begun with a meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Barack Obama. Their meeting had to do with a way for both Canada and U.S. To figure out a way to cut down the emissions. High comiisioner Justin Brown wants to join Canada and the U.S. To cut down emiisions to help out the environment.
2.Australia- Parliament Democracy(Head person in charge like a president or a hereditary monarch)
Canada- Parliament(Crown, House of Commons, an appointed Senate)
United States- Democracy( President in charge with each state having representative, people vote)
3.Australia has choices. They are not being forced to make an alliance with Canada and the U.S. They have chosen to find answers to the current climate problems. They are doing it for morality, and The prime minister of Australia himself stated that climate is a huge deal in Australia. They are simply trying to better themselves.
4.The best solution to their current problem would be hat they are currently doing. They should find nations with similar interests and find an answer to cut down emissions.
5.I believe that Australia has set a pretty good goal which is to have set an emissions trading system by 2010. I believe they will be successful with their efforts.

1. The article is talking about the good relationship that Australia and Indonesia are forming through sports. It also talks about how the ties between Australia and Indonesia hit rock bottom when Australia led a multinational stabilization force to East Timor in 1999. Although in 2002 the Bali bombings killed 88 Australians including some young sportsmen which marked the start of a new era of cooperation. The cooperation between the two countries is going very well, and their relationship through sports is helping maintain a relaxed and friendly relationship between the countries.

2. Australia- federal parliamentary democracy- Australia’s system of government is founded in the liberal democratic tradition. Based on the values of religious tolerance, freedom of speech and association, and the rule of law, Australia’s institutions and practices of government reflect British and North American models. At the same time, they are uniquely Australian.
Indonesia- Republic- a representative democracy in which the people's elected deputies (representatives), not the people themselves, vote on legislation.
3. To continue building their relationship through sports, because that will help both countries maintain peace, and they should also continue helping out each other’s countries through doing good deeds for each countries community.
4. I believe the best resolution is to make more sport tournaments between the two countries so they can raise more money to help both Australia and Indonesia.
5. I believe the situation between the two countries will only get better if they continue forming sports tournaments between each other, because that way their relationship will only get better, and they will support and help out each other on good terms.

1. "Erebus is a stratovolcano composed of alternating layers of solidified ash, hardened lava, and rocks ejected by earlier eruptions." In Antarctica, Mount Erebus is experiencing volcanic activity due to molten lava lakes and vapor emissions. although mount erebus is covered with glaciers, they have no effect on the volcano's molten core. due to its constant activity, NASA scientists have placed self directed satellites and sensors to roam the area.
2. Antarctica is the only nation involved in this volcanic dilemma. The government type in Antarctica is composed of the Antarctica Treaty signed on December 1959 which established the legal framework in order to manage the continent.
3. At this moment in time, about 28 nations have set up camps and refugees of scientific research in order to study the lands of this mysterious continent. there really isnt a means of solving the issue, problems need to be found in order to jump on its cases.
4. i believe the best way to resolve a problem is to allow a technologically advanced goverment with a rising economy go in and do its research. then, they would report to the world in a way as not to exploit the continent of antarctica. any problems that should rise will be solved in a respectful manner.
5. i believe more tourists will visit Antarctica to view its beauty as the hot lava comes to life.

1)
Australia could become fortunate and completely avoid a recession within this year. Many different major rich countries around the world are already or about to get into a recession. Australia has not been in a recession since the year 1991 and they have just recently uncovered two economic stimulus programs that together are worth 52 billion dollars. The Australian banks are making profits when banks in other countries are not making profit or making losses. Australian house values are not going down and it is very unlikely for Australia to go into a recession.
2)
The nation involved in my current event is Australia, and Australia is a federal constitutional monarchy under a parliamentary democracy.
3)
Australia has many options to solve this problem, like cutting taxes and inputting two different stimulus programs for the economy.
4)
I think the best solution is to input the two stimulus programs which the Australian government have already done.
5)
My predictions on the situation is that Australia will do good in this time of economic crisis and they will probably not go into a recession.

1. Some scientist have found a hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica. They believe this is happening due to global warming. This is very crucial to Earth and all of the life on earth. This layer protects us from UV radiation, which is very harmful to all life on earth. Another problem is that due to global warming the ice in the arctic is melting faster than it has ever happened before. Due to this sea levels can and will start to rise. With this cities and towns will be flooded.
2. Antarctica is one of the nations involved and its form of government is the Antarctic Treaty, which allows management of Antarctica.
3. One of the major choices that they have is to stoop burning fossil fuels which is one of the leading causes for global warming.
4. The solution that I think can best solve this problem is to stop using gas for cars. I know it sounds ridiculous but its the only way to do it.
5. I predict that this is going to continue to happen because humans are very selfish and they are not going to stop until a major disaster happens but until then this is going to get worse.

1. They have had wild fires in southern Australia which has burned down 1,834 houses and killed 189+ people. It also burned 4,500 acres of land and they said it was hard to find some of the bodies because of the heat which meant a lot of bodies burned. One of the men that started a fire is going to court on may 26 for killing 21+ people. http://current.com/items/89818779/death_toll_from_australian_bushfires_reaches_189.htm
2. It is only Australia involved and they have a federal parliamentary democracy.
3. The most they can do is use their fire fighters to work hard to control the fires.
4. I think the best solution is to do what they do here in California to control the fires.
5. I think eventually it will be handled and the man that killed 21+ people with starting one of the fires is going to court and hopefully justice is served.

1.This article talks about Australia offering the best job in the world on paradise island. Its a tough job but someone has to do it. The department of Australia Queens island is looking for one lucky person to spend a half year relaxing on Hamilton Island while promoting the island on blog. The island caretaker is expected to stroll the white sand, soak up the sun, snorkel the reef, and maybe clean the pool. He/she is to report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries, and video updates.
2. its part of the country's Whitsunday Islands and form of government is federal parliamentary democracy
3.To make up their mind of who would be a lucky winner they want someone who isn't sure, a fantastic communicator and tell the world why Queen island is a great place to come for a holiday
4. I think the best solutions that could be best resolve to this problem would be find someone ho has experienced and has enough education.
5. The predictions i have regarding the future of the situation would be if they do find that lucky person i dont think that person would last working there and catching up with the whole media.

1.
Australia is fortunate enough to have a strong economy with the four main West European economies. In 2008, the Australian dollar has become weaker due to the unwinding of the carry trade. Also the tight global liquidity has faced Australia’s banking sector that relied mostly on international wholesale markets for funding. The federal parliamentary democracy government plans to slow the growth in 2009 with fiscal stimulus efforts.
2.
The Federal Parliamentary Democracy- The federal government is based on a popularly elected Parliament with two chambers. Australia’s system of government is based on the liberal democratic tradition, which includes religious tolerance, freedom of speech and association.
3.
Australia’s government has to go by what they had planned for the year 2009, which was to slow growth with fiscal stimulus efforts.
4.
If the government sticks to what they planned, then everyone hopes for it to all work out in the year 2009. With the economy become weaker and weaker due to the unwinding carry trade in 2008, the government hopes for the best and hopefully the economy will get better.
5.
The economy is getting weaker everywhere. If the government keeps finding ways to fix it then hopefully it works out. But until then, the economy is suffering in Australia and everywhere else.

1. Site and summarize your article in a paragraph, making sure to focus on the problem at hand
-The death toll from bushfires in southeastern Australia has risen to 210, police in the state of Victoria said Tuesday. Victoria Police said they are still working to identify all the victims of the fires that have raged since early this month. At least 2,029 homes have been destroyed in the blazes, according to Australian news outlets that quoted Bruce Esplin, the emergency services coordinator for Victoria. That is an increase from the previous estimate of 1,800.
2. What nation(s) are involved in your current event and what form of government do they have (Democracy, Theocracy, Federal Republic, Socialist, Communist, etc) and define what that term/form of government means?
The Commonwealth of Australia is a constitutional democracy based on a federal division of powers. The form of government used in Australia is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of government
3. What choice/options do these nations have to make to solve the problem?
Well since the problem is directly associated to nature the only option the nation has is to either cut down dried and dead plants or burn the areas in a controlled organized matter.
4. What solutions do you think could best resolve the problem?
To annually burn the dead plants and fields that are being sparked by nature and destroying countless homes and buildings.
5. What predictions do you have regarding the future of the situation/problem?
The situation will never end it can only be controlled.

This article was talking about how the nation of Australia’s defense members might buy several helicopters that are flown by remote control. They are buying them incase something happens to put them in to wartime. The problems they face are accidental civilian casualties.
2) The nations involved are anyone against Australia and of course Australia itself. Their government is Federal parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. This is a democracy that is also a monarchy.
3) Australia can either not buy these helicopters or make sure they are being safe about the way they handle things.
4) I think the best solution would be to not buy them and train their helicopter pilots better. I think risking innocent people’s lives is unnecessary.
5) I think they will wind up buying them, but no one wages war on Australia so I’m not too worried about people getting hurt.

Australia may become more fortunate and the recession may not effect them this year. Many countries, even the more wealthy ones, are getting into a recession.
Australia hasn't been in a recession since the year 1991. They have recently released two econmonic stimulus programs that together are worth 52 billion dollars. The banks in Australia have been profiting when other banks around the world have been losing. The house values in Australia aren't going down. There havn't been any signs of them going into a recession.
2.
Australia is a federal constitutional monarchy under a parliamentary democracy.
3)
Australia can cut taxes or input the two differentn stimulus programs for the economy to prevent or solve this problem.
4)
I believe the choice that they made of inputting the two programs was the best solution to make.
5)
I think that Australia will be fine during this recession that everyone has been going through. I don't think the problems in other's economies will effect them as well.

This article is about planetary temperature changes in Antarctica. Because of the global climate change the icy continent is melting away very fast. The Earths gradual rising temperature is indeed a serious problem. Soon the beachfront property will be only a few miles from Atlanta. A lot of people are worried about the polar bears at the North Pole and the penguins in Antarctica. The rising in sea level and response of large vertebrate animals are clear indicators of global climate change. No one can be sure as to what will happen with these animals, but scientist will continue to explore these animals and try to save them.
2. The government type in Antarctica is composed of the Antarctica Treaty which established the legal framework in order to control the continent.
3. There are about 30 different nations that have many scientists and people trying to help out to find out an answer to global warming. Although, there is no stopping this problem, but only a way to move around it.
4. I’m not sure as in how to solve this problem, but start recycling, buy a hybrid car, or even volunteer with a global warming program.
5. I think that this is going to be a problem for a very long time and I think that I will die before I can see a greener side.

1. Science today thinks that by the end of this century lakes and streams on one-fourth of the african continent could be drying up because of the rising temperatures. Since the ice sheets are melting so fast it is causing the sea level to rise 0.4 millimeters a year. The ice sheets are are getting ahead of schedule than they had predicted. They predict that the ice sheets melting is not going to stop in the next couple of years.
2. The nations involved in my current event is south africa and antarctica. There form of government is the Antarctic Treaty, establishes the legal framework for the management of Antarctica.
3. The choices they have to make to solve this problem is to decrease carbon monoxide emissions.
4. Scientists should get together and do more studies to solve global warming. including the limiting of greenhouse gases and carbon monoxide.
5. My predictions on the future of this problem is that antarctice will most likely be all melted and become a big sea or water.

Antarctica is asking Australia to reduce the number of trips made. Australians are said to have been spreading diseases and destroying the enviorment with huge tourist groups.
2. Antarctica and Australia/ Antarctic Treaty Summary (Antarctic Treaty Summary - the Antarctic Treaty, signed on 1 December 1959 and entered into force on 23 June 1961, establishes the legal framework for the management of Antarctica. Administration is carried out through consultative member meetings - the 23rd Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting was in Peru in May 1999. At the end of 1999, there were 44 treaty member nations: 27 consultative and 17 acceding. Consultative (voting) members include the seven nations that claim portions of Antarctica as national territory (some claims overlap) and 20 nonclaimant nations. The US and some other nations that have made no claims have reserved the right to do so. The US does not recognize the claims of others. 5. If the tourist reduce then there shouldn’t be anymore problems.

1. http://www.wsws.org/articles/2005/dec2005/sepa-d22.shtml
This article is about the Australian race riots. The racist violence that exploded in the Sydney suburb of Cronulla on December 11 has exposed the ugly face of Australian society. Intense social pressures generated by the prolonged assault by the Howard government and its Labor predecessors on living standards have erupted in a malignant and reactionary form.
2. Australia has a federal parliamentary democracy. Australia’s system of government is founded in the liberal democratic tradition.
3. Ordinary working people need to recognise the dangers contained in the situation. Processes have been consciously set in train with direct parallels in the communal violence that has plagued countries like Sri Lanka and the former Yugoslavia for decades.
4. I think that it will be very difficult and be a long process for this all to subside. The thing is, racism has been in the world since the very beginning. Things have become much better, but it will have to take time.
5. Well, this atricle was wrote in 2005, so I am hoping that at least in some areas there are not so many racial riots in astrialia now that 3 years has passed. Everyone just needs to get along.
